Project details
Hendrick provided full architectural and interior design services for Synovus’ new Midland Commons branch, the firm’s first ground-up project for the financial institution. The 3,200-square-foot building consolidates three existing branches into a single, modern location within the Midland Commons shopping district.
Organized around a double-height, light-filled foyer, the branch emphasizes transparency, openness, and ease of use. Hospitality- and retail-inspired planning supports a contemporary banking model with universal bankers, intuitive customer flow, teller stations, walk-up and drive-through ATMs, and efficient vehicle queuing.
Designed to engage the community from all sides, the building features locally inspired exterior materials that reference the area’s history, along with energy-efficient glazing and shading strategies. The result is a customer-focused branch that reinforces Synovus’ brand while setting a new standard for modern bank design.
