Project details
The design of a stunning space for Gray Television, Inc. at Assembly Studios in Doraville, Atlanta, transformed the campus, which is part of a 135-acre redevelopment of a former General Motors plant, blending entertainment, workspace, and outdoor areas. The focus was on Building Two’s fifth and sixth floors, known as "The Jewel Box," inspired by Classic Hollywood. The fifth floor features outdoor terraces, while the sixth floor offers flexible event and workspace areas. The design combines rich tones, luxurious materials, and functional elements, creating a hospitality-focused environment that serves multiple purposes for both work and special events.
Key design features include a large fireplace, bar, spiral staircase, and a two-story backlit onyx wall, along with a striking proscenium curtain made of 13,000 hand-tied brass pieces. The Jewel Box also integrates advanced technology, including plug-and-play options, Wi-Fi, and theater-like screens. This multifunctional space accommodates business meetings, client entertainment, and special events, positioning it as a central hub within the Assembly Studios complex. Future phases of Assembly Atlanta will expand the development with parks, green spaces, and mixed-use buildings, further enhancing its role as a key destination for the film and TV industry in Georgia.
