Mental health facility design creates a warm and welcoming environment for healing

Embark Behavioral Health

Project details

A nationwide network of exceptional treatment programs for preteens, teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and substance use issues operates 38 facilities across the U.S. They offer a range of services, including outpatient counseling, residential treatment, boarding schools, and wilderness therapy camps. As part of their national expansion, they opened their second facility in Metro Atlanta, with a vision to become the most respected and valuable family behavioral health care provider globally.

Focused on creating joy and healing generations, the organization sought a design that made young patients feel at ease. Mental health facilities can often feel sterile, but this space was designed to be warm, welcoming, and supportive of their mission. The goal was to create a safe, attractive environment that fostered confidence and comfort, allowing patients to open up and enjoy their time with counselors and family.
