At the 2025 NFMT Conference, Hendrick's Principal of Architecture, Tim Sliger, joined forces with our ONE Global Design partner, Meyer, to present on the transformative potential of repositioning, adaptive reuse, and conversion strategies for commercial buildings. Their session explored how these approaches—when guided by thoughtful planning and stakeholder alignment—can turn underperforming or outdated assets into high-performing, future-ready environments.

They emphasized that while each strategy must be tailored to the unique needs of a project, a successful outcome depends on collaboration among owners, facility managers, occupants, and the design team. Short-term efforts often focus on market alignment and functional upgrades, while long-term strategies prioritize sustainability, adaptability, and resilience.

Through real-world examples and practical guidance, Tim and Meyer illustrated how a holistic evaluation of economic viability, market trends, and community impact can unlock new value from aging buildings—turning liabilities into long-term assets
